AIR MAIL February 18, 1954 Mr. G. H. Kinnicutt, Vice President Continental-American Travel, Inc. 109 East 57th Street at Park Avenue 1954 EUROPEAN TRIP New York 22, New York Dear Mr. Kinnicutt: I refer you to our correspondence last fall and your booking of passage for me on the LIBERTE August 1 ith to Le Havre and returning on October 22nd; also on the ANDREA DORIA Westbound October 22nd. It looks as if my sailing will be delayed as I will probably have to attend a meeting in Arkansas on September 1st. Therefore, I would not be able to sail before about September 5th or thereabouts, and I would then want to take a later sailing returning to the States. Would you please be kind enough to send me sailing dates and cabin rates of both ships as I want to pick out similar accommodations on the ANDREA DORIA Eastbound sailing sometime after the 5th of September and on the LIBERTE returning about the middle of November or shortly thereafter. However, do not give up any of the bookings that we have reserved until something more definite is known. If I should sail on the ANDREA DORIA at the time stated, I thought I might leave the ship at either Lisbon or Gibraltar with my car and spend a short two weeks in North Africa, touring the most interesting points, and then taking a boat with the car from some point in North Africa to Naples or Palermo. I know very little about North Africa and would like you to advise me whether this is the proper time, whether good hotel accommodations could be secured, and if you could route this trip for me, making hotel reservations at the best hotels. Please let me hear from you at your convenience. Yours very truly, D. W. Kempner 22
