Dr. Raphael S. Schwartzman, Rabbi of the United Orthodox
Synagogues, is chairman of the Texas Scholarship Fund of
the Yeshiva and will accept applicants for the 1968-1969
school term.
Any Texas student with a diploma from a Synagogue Hebrew
School is eligible for admission.

MAIN SANCTUARY - UNITED ORTHODOX SYNAGOGUES OF HOUSTON
YESHIVA OF THE SOUTH HOLDS FIRST GRADUATION
The First Graduation of the first Senior Class of the Ye-
shiva of the South will be held Thursday, June 13, 1968
in the Baron Hirsch Synagogue, Memphis, Tenn.
Roberta Sue Burman, daughter of nr. & Mrs. Hal Burman, is
one of the graduates ..Other Houstonians attending the Ye-
shiva High School are? Irwin Friedman, son offr. &mrs.
Ben Friedman, Esther and michael Schwartzman children _ of :
Rabbi and frs. Raphael S. Schwartzman .. The Yeshiva of the
South, located at 390 So. White Station Rd., Memphis, Tenn,
is the South’s first Jewish High School with dormitory
facilities for both boys andgirls.
The Yeshiva of the South has a 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th
grade and fully accredited by the Tennessee State Board of
Education. Its student body at present comes from memphis,
Birmingham, Ala., New Orleans, La., Jacksonville, Fla.,
Columbus, Georgia, Shelby,, Miss., Houston, Tex. and San
Francisco, Calif.

Davis, will include the Installation of the newly ole ctod
officers - installed by Cantor Irving Dean. A special, pre-
sentation will be given to Sisterhood members by the Men’s
Club. The Sisterhood Choral Group will offer several musi-
cal selections accompanied on tho piano by Mrs. Betty
Gormo. . M.C, will be Mrs. Mildred Dean.
