Chicago. HI.. Oct. I. New breaks In
the value of wheat took place today
In connection with assertions that
country offerings In the southwest
were heavy. Slowness of export de-

factor. Opening quotations which va-
ried from lo decline to JHo advance
with December at 11.99 to Sl.19. and
March at $1.95 were followed by sharp
downturns ail around.
Subsequently the market was
further weakned by word that export
interests were heavy sellers at Winni-
peg and that Minneapolis was buying
Canadian wheat. lAte advices about
country offerings in the southwest
were conflicting. The close was un-
settled. 4hic to lc net lower with

Sharp debate followed the reading
of the 'annual report of president XjS-
roy Kennedy. Be warned the dele-a-atee
that at the next meetlne; of the
state Irtrislature the pssssge of re-
pressive lea-islatien would be at-
tempted by the copper and cotton
companies. Among- his recommenda-

sions was over a resolution that dls-
sbled soldiers be allowed to so into
unionised shops to learn trades. The
report of a committee was unfavor-
able but there was much aiwument
to the effect that such soldiers under
such conditions would be developed
into union supporters. There was
general agreement however that the
suggestion would run counter to the
union regulations of apprenticeship.
