Over half a car of beans were ship-
ped from Hempstead Baturday, May
' 17, when 15000 pounds were handled
in the local express office, according
to George Osborne, express agent. ' 1
Up to that date only a little over
12,000 pounds of beans had been ship-
ped out of Hempstead since the sea-
son opened two weeks ago.
This large daily shipment was made
up of small shipments by individual
growers, shipping in sacks.
Under favorable weather conditions
bean shipments should continue to be
large, Mr. Osborne raid.—Hempstead
