The exact amount the bandits
took can't be determined until a
complete check is made, which
will probably take a day or two,
the cashier's office said.
The 15th of the month is check-
up day, and as a result more mon-
ey is handled on that day than on
other days, It often runs 312,000 to
113,000.
Two at the bandits robbed the
cashier’s cage. The other two rob-
bed 12 drivers who were in a
counting room, tallying their mon-
ey before checking in.
The gunmen ordered the 12
drivers snd two supervisors to lay
down on the floor. One supervisor,
LeRoy Wallace, raised his head
to watch the robbers stuffing mon-
ey into a paper sack.
“Keep your heads down or I’ll
shoot ’em off,” one of the bandits
shouted.
The other two gunmen went
through the credit department into
the cashier’s office.
They made everyone in either of-
fice lie down on the floor. They
were Clint Yeager, W. F. Hardison
and Eugene Wiley of the Borden
Company and'three visitors from
s downtown bsnk — G. S. Sutton,
H. D. Whitfield snd Mrs. Frank
Wyatt
The gunmen scooped all the mon-
ey in the cashier’s office into s
paper sack.
’Then the four robbers met in a
hall, ran downstairs together and
fled. No automobile was seen, but

AUSTIN, Dec. 16UP_SThe state
of Texas prepared to appeal f dis-

Attorney General Price Daniel
said the state would appeal
"promptly" the decision made
Monday by District Judge Charles
O. Betts. Betts sustained defendant
exceptions to the state’s petition.
Daniel declined to amend the pe-
