Movie on Aluminum
Shown by Engineers
"This la Aluminum" was the
picture shown by the? division of
engineering yesterday , afternoon.
The film pictorially answered
the question, "What is aluminum
and where does it, come from?"
It discribed the steps in mining
bauxite, the ore ; of aluminum,
and also the chemical processes
involved in refining the ore before
it can be reduced electrically to
metallic aluminum.
The picture ends with a number
of scenes showing the fabrication
of aluminum into various shapes.
Movies are shown weekly by the
engineering' division in Room 327
of the Science Building. Showing
time is 5 p. m. each Monday after-
noon.

NIGHT LIGHTS
Dance Will Carry
Out Traditions
By ANN BRYAN
Saturday night is the big night
we've all been waiting for these
past few weeks. During past years
the Military Ball has built tip a
reputation for being the biggest
event of the year, and this year's
ball will be no exception. I judge
my opinion on the efforts being
put out by Kenneth Cottle, corps
commander, the Officers Club, and
the corps as a whole.
The dining hall will be hardly
recognizable Saturday nig'ht at £
o'clock when ex-Tarletonites from
all over Texas, visitors frolji other
military schools, students and
faculty meet to dance to the music
of Leonard Johnson, talk about
old times and "make whoopee" for
four hours that will be remember-
ed for a long, long- time.
Here's a chance for an extra long
evening with your favorite gal,
boys, for the girls have been
granted 1:30 privileges. If you
boys don't have a date, it's time
you were getting busy and finding
one. Open your eyes and look at
all the girls at Tarleton that you
have been too busy to notice before.
I know that studying takes up a
lot of your time (?), but don't
miss your chance to notice and
then do something about going
with that cute little girl you never
noticed before.
There will be several visitors
from other military schools here
for our dance. They will be the
top ranking boys in their corps and
their g'irls. Will they carry a good
or bad impression with them back
to their schools,?. That isn't a
question to be answered by the
cadet colonel or our high ranking"
officers, it's a question to be an-
swered by every Tarletonite, boys
and girls alike.
These visitors will be mot at
the door by a welcoming commit-
tee composed of Colonel Kenneth
Cottle, Lieut. Colonels John Whit-
man, Elwin Clark, Chip Merrill,
and other officers. After this wel-
coming- committee, though, what
kind of reception will they receive ?
That's up to every one of you. We
can raise their opinion of Tarle-
ton and its students many degrees
Willard and Walker
Serve on Committee
_ Misses Helen Willard and Mat-
tie Walker were members of a
judging committee for a talent
show sponsored by the 4-H Clubs
in Comanche last Friday night.
Two faculty members of Daniel
Baker College composed the rest
of the committee.
Fifty performances were on the
program for the talent show which
was divided into divisions of pre-
school, elementary school, high
school, and adult groups.

with only a little effort on every
individual's part.
With that little bit of effort
every one can show interest in
these visitors, talk to them, intro-
duce yourselves to thrim. If you
do, when they le^ve, the biggest
impression they .carry with them
will be the friendliness of Tarle-

For once in his life, our fervent friend admits that
eagerness can be over-done! He's alluding, of course, to all
these quick-trick cigarette tests—the ones that ask you to decide on cigarette
mildness after just one puff, one sniff, one inhale or one exhale! When the
chips are down, he realizes cigarette mildness can't .
be judged in a hurry. That's why he made . . .
The sensible test . . . the 30-Day Camel Mildness Test
which asks you to try Camels as your steady smoke-
on a pack after pack, day after day basis. No snap
judgments needed. After you've enjoyed Camels—and only
Camels—for 30 days in your "T-Zone" (T for Throat, .
T for Taste), we believe you'll know why . , ,
