awarded Garnet Crist 15 Sharv-
lanti girl who la a member of the
Alton Pour If c.ub She is one of
^two girls selected from Hidalgo
‘county lor the distinction.
Awards ven announced at the
annual encampment for Four-H
club gi: is of the three Vaie> coun-
ties. held Saturday at the Y W. C
A. camp in Rio Hondo. Decision
of judges was baaed on the wort
done by the individual members in
s.veral phases ol the Four H club
work for the past year and for
which Miss Crist s .eco.J was out-
standing.
In addition to the scholarship
award Miss Crist received first
place on pajamas and second on a
dress she had made and entered m
the clothing exhibit at the encamp-
ment
Betty Jo CarlU*. another member
of the club was elected vice-presi-
dent of tire Hidalgo county organi-
zation and won prizes for first place
on dre's ai d second on pajamas in
the clothing exhibit. He < n Jensen
won thud place in the poultry
scrapbook entries.
