NEW ASSOCIATION OF EM-
PLOYES TO TAKE OVER
HOSPITAL FEB. 1.
to a call by W. W. Searcy, state
chairman, a meeting of the United
Americana of Texas, was to begin
here today. A constitution was to
be adopted and a permanent state
organization formed during the ses-
sion.
The purpose of the orgsnization.
Mr. Searcy stated in his call, are:
‘To preserve the constitution of
the United States with the repres-
entative form of government and the
right of individual possession which
the constitution provides; to stand
firmly for law and order; to foster
among the people high standards of
individual and co-operate, conduct;
and to advance the prosperity and
happiness of all the people of the

The work of ths University Inter-
scholastic League in Harrison coun-
ty for ths year 1920 is now getting
under way, and students and teachers
are looking forward and making plane
for the big county meet which will be
held in declamation and debate, spel-
ling, essay writing an junior and
senior athletica.
A basketball schedule for the season
has already been arranged with Halls-
ville, Harleton, Waskom, Central
Cave Springs and Grange Hall en-
tering the contest. Each of these
schools has from one to four basket
ball teams to enter, the larger schools
having a junior and senior boy's team
and s junior and senior girl's team.
About twelve schoosl of the county
have paid the fee of $1 which entitles
them to membership in the league.

The Texas & Pacific hospital here
will be in charge of a new hospital
assoeiation composed of employes be-
ginning February 1. Additional ser-
vice not provided for under the present
arrangement will be furnished under
the new association, and each employe
will contribute more to the support of
the hospital than is being paid at
present.
The constitution and by-laws of the
association have already been prepar-
ed and will be sent out to members in
the next few days, it is said. Exten-
sion and improvements in the hospital
facilities will probably be made at a
later date, but it is said that no
changes are likely at present.
