Philomathian literary societies for the
athletic trophies.
The Erisophian society won every-
thing except the cheering banner. Miss
Maarice Thompson and Sarah Vaughn
won the doubles at tennis against
Misses Attic Humphreys and Dorthy
Dobbs won the singles easily from
Miss Lucile Victory of the Philoma-
thian society. Sidney Cowles and S.
P. Jones defeated Messrs McAllister
and Pieford at doubles. Mr. Cowles
also defeated Mr. McAllister. Only
two sets were played in every case.
Thursday afternoon the Erisopian
team amid the derisive cheers of their
opponents and the encouraging yells
of their society defeated the Philo-
mathians by the substantial score of
14 to 5. S. P. Jones pitched for the
Erisophians and Ralph Breen caught
