Movie Schedule
Several outstanding foreign
fif-iH have been obtained for
.showing in Stephenville this win-
ter, it was announced - this week
by Jack Arthur, owner of the
local theaters. The fall foreign
film series will include 10 of the
'best foreign films produced in
recent years. The selection ' in-
cludes, Man Upstairs, an English
import that will opeh the series
tonight. The film will show1 for
'two days. ■ *
Father Panehali, an excellent
Indian film" ik scheduled for show-
ing Nov. 15-18. It is an award-
winning film concerning the life
drama" of a poverty-stricken dis-
trict of India. .

Other movies include Sol Hu-
rock'a "Ballet of Romeo and
Juliet" scheduled for Nov. 22-24,
"Th£ Horse's Mouth"- starring
Alex Guinness Nov, 29-Dec, 2,
"Ugetsu", a Japanese film slated
for Dec. 8-9, "My Uncle," starring
Jacques Tati, Dec. 13-1G, "The
Naked Maja," "He Who Must Die,"
an.d "The Crucible," are the others.
The musical ■ "South Pacific"
will be the. high point in the series,
with single evening showings on
. Nov. .6-11. The showings will5 in-
clude Saturday and Sunday mat-
inees.

the music room, where she attends
to the playing of records for
music classes and other record re-
quests. She works eleven hours
each week, and she has helped take
inventory of the" library.
In Richardson High School,
Barbara waa a member of' the
National Honor Society, Student
Council, United Nations Club, and
Future-Homeina-kers Club.
Here in Tarleton she is the pres-
ident of the • Coronas Bocial chib,
-representative to the Girl's Dorm
House Council, and co-worship
chairman of the Wesley Founda-
tion. Her hobbies are reading,
photography, and water skiing.
Barbara, plans to earn her B. A.
degree at North Texas State and
enter the- business field as a per-
sonnel manager,
John Stanley MeCabe of Grand-
falls, Texas, is the second student
assistant to be presented. During
his senior year at Royalty High
School, John was elected class
favorite, school favorite, and
F, H. A. Beau. His hobbies are
sports, records, and Hi-Fi.
A Physical Education -major, ho
plans to minor in Speech or Eng-
lish and get his B. A. degree eith-
er from Tarleton or Texas Tech.
He likes to work with high school
students,, and thinks the main
thing in physical- education ia to
teach sportsmanship".
John's duties include assisting
in the music room, working at the
loan desk, shelving books, and
helping to take inventory.
Aside from working seven hours
each week in tha library, John
also carries a curriculum includ-
ing twenty semester hours.
Bonnie McGehee,- head librarian,
asks that students please observe
the following change: the refer-
ence reserve books and the reserve
books are now together at the
Circulation Desk. The Library had
mil out of shelving space for re-
serve books, so the counter-height
shelves from the Public Services
art'a was'moved to the Circulation
Area. This provided more work
space to facilitate the "checking out
of books during rush periods and
more shelving for the growing r
serve book collection.

major from Cleburne, presided at
a ,council meeting- which was held
in the parlor of the women's dorm
on .Monday ,Oet. 26. ■
Several .interesting and, help-
ful items were discussed, particu-
lai'ly pertaining to. dormitory be-
havior. Since homecoming " Was-."the
weekend event, the fresbnien.-^irls.;
were -.briefed on what,-. Iq'-,expect.
The • senior girls.' wre" "eager, to-
dress the fish , up in. the'taekiept
but funniest ■ costumes, that-they
could possibly think of as a part of
Freshman Day activities .
Mrs. Eugena Cotton, dean" of
women, commented that beginning'
Nov. 7, the parlor will be closed to
men each Saturday night after
■10:30. p.m.; however, the 12:00
p.m. curfew still exists. .Twoitems
which pertain to etiquette to be -fol-
lowed by men visitors are that "the
street directly in front of Moody
and Gough Hall are off limits- to
ihen as far as picking up a date or
lingering around the cars is con-
cerned. One other reminder is for
the men to he more particular
about their appearance when call-
ing on a young lady. Wrinkled
shirt tail's hanging outside the
trousers do not-make a good im-
pression, Mrs. Cotton said.
