Owls-Silver Keys Plan
Blue Christmas Ball
The OWLS and Silver Keya
-social clubs will present the an-
nual Blue Christmas Ball on Sat-
urday night December, 15. The
girl's gymnasium will be the set-
ting- for this pre-Christmas dance,
which will begin at 8:00 p.m. and
close at midnight.
Music for the dance will be fur-
nished by the "Nomads," a five
piece combo rated as one of the
best at North Texas State Univer-
sity. This group has played in
many of the popular night spots
in the Fort Worth-Dallas area.
The combo consists of two guitars,
a saxophone, piano and drums,
A highlight of the evening- will
be the introduction of the new
member,s of both social clubs, The
new pledges will be escorted by
the old members of the club.
This dance is semi-formal, and
flowers are optional. Every mem-
ber of the student body is cordially
invited to attend.
Pledges to be presented for the
OWLS are Diane McDonald,
Waco; and Kay Rogers, Fort
Worth.
Silver Keys pledges are Harry
Park, Stephenville; Roy Baldridge,
Waco; R. M. Currin, Priddy; and
Butch Stafford, Roscoe.
Tickets may be obtained from
any member of the OWLS or Sil-
ver Keys for $2.00. Also, tickets
will be on sale in the Rec Hall,
Friday, and Saturday morning-.
Tickets will cost $2.50 at the door.

Travel to Inauguration
The Wainwright Rifles and the
Tarleton TKXAN Band have been
invited to march in the inaugural
partyie for governor-elect John.
Connally on January 15. The
groups will travel to Austin on
chartered buses and spend the
night there.
Commander of the Wainwright
Rifles is Cadet Ed Bradshaw. Ex-
ecutive Officer is Reggie Crosby,
and John Findeisen serves and
First Sergeant.
Other members are Nolan Pike,
Danny Carpenter, Wesley Booth,
Don Jones, Roy Baldridge, John
Handley, Dennis . Hancock, Billy
Johnson,- Bobby Guest, James Lat-
ham, Steve Shepard, Joe Koch,
Richard Robie, Robert Stegall,
Campbell Wren, and Clayton Car-
penter. Also Edwin Mitchell, Byron
Maxwell, Jack Flemington, Paul
Vinyard, Gene Bratton, Dava
Kuhn, Ron Kelly, Steve Goodrich,
Larry Warren, Danny Johnson,
and Ronny King.
Director of the TEXAN Band is
Mr. Hilmar Wagner, and Norman
Deisher serves as drum major.
Members of the majorette crops
are Jan Moreland, Barbara Wal-
don, Luine Ileizer, Ann Cobb, Ann
McCain, Linda Carter, Donna Col-
lingworth, Valorie Henson, Jacque
Raymer, and Jeanette Smith.
Mackie Wright Named
Wainwright Sweetheart
parachutes lowered from the ceil-
ing. Table decorations consisted of
pieces of cedar and white candles.
Colored revolving lights were
placed at the entrance and around
the dance floor.
Entertainment was furnished by
Mr. Jim Woodle of the music de-
partment at TSC. He played a
medly of classicalo and popular
songs on the piano.
Music for the dance was furnish-
ed by the Tophatters Combo.
Miss Mackie Wright, junior his-
tory major from De Leon, was
named Wainwright Sweetheart at
the Annual Wainwright Ball held
last Friday night in the TSp Din-
ing Hall.
Choir Gives
Concert For
Lions Club
The Tarleton Collegiate Choir
presented a Christmas program
for the Lion's Club Friday at their
noonday luncheon. Mr. Jim Woodle
directed the choir.
The choir sang a variety ol
Christmas songs. The program
opened with "For all the Saints"
an arrangement by Robert Shaw.
The choir then took on a light
note with three folk songs by Ho-
hannes Brahms. They were "I'd
Enter Your Garden," "The Fid-
dler," and "How Sad Flow the
Streams."
The next series of songs were
a selection from "Kismet." To get
back to the Christmas spirit the
choir sang a Spanish Dance Carol
Called "Fum, Fum, Fum.'J.
The choir ended their program
with the traditional "We Wish You
a Merry Christmas."
The Tarleton Collegiate Choir
will present their Christmas con-
cert to the Tarleton students, fac-
ulty, and friends on Tuesday night
December 18,
MEETINGS
There will be a meeting of tho
Senior Class Tuesday at 12:30 in
the Science Lecture Room. Senior
Class gift or memorial will be dis-
cussed. All members are urged to
be present.

The Tarleton Campus Club will
meet this afternoon at 3 p.m. in
the Robi nRoom of the! Dining
Hall. Pictures will be made at 3:30.
Mackie is a member of the
Eternas social'club and has served
as president of the club. She is al-
so a member of the TTS-TTP and .
has been an officer in this organi-
zation .She is a graduate of De
Leon High School.
The name of the queen was kept
a secret until the ball. Mackie was
escorted by Ed Bradshaw, com-
mander of the drill team, and was
presented a bouquet of roses and
a Sash with "Wainwright Sweet-
heart" written on it. She and the
commanders of the Wainwright
Drill Team and Band cut the huge
birthday cake that signified the
"13th" birthday of the drill team.
Other nominees were Nicki Beth
McAden and Carolyn Masters.
Their escorts were Paul Lessard,
commander of the band and Reg-
gie Crosby, executive officer of
the Wainwrights.
The theme of "Happy Birthday
Wainwrights" was carried out iu
the decorations. Other decorations
included fresh cedars and blue
Placement Committee
Set up for Seniors
Prospective candidates for de-
grees and certificates in May and
August who are interested in se-
curing employment after gradua-
tion through the Tarleton Place-
ment Committee should check in
the Registrar's Office. Applica-
tion forms and instructions are
available there.
A number of companies and fed-
eral agencies have scheduled visits
to the campus for the spring se-
mester, Notices of these visits will
be posted on the Employment Bul-
letin Board in the hallway of the
first floor of the Administration
Building.
Members of the Placement Com-
mittee are Registrar Stuart Chil-
ton, chairman; Mr. Z. C. Edgar;
Dr. P. A. Caraway; Dr. W. B.
