Following is the pledge in the
introductory of the blank:
Our country has declared war
against a foreign foe and our ar-
my and navy are mobolizing to
engage the enemy in battle.
They are the country’s defenders
and mustz be supplied with the
necessary food to enable them to
wage war without hindrance.
There is already a scarcity of
food products throughout the
countrs,‛and to supply our army,
navy and civilian population will
require that the 'farmers of the
nation greatly increase their
planting of the food and feed
crops. Love of country, human
ity, and patriotism earnestly en
treat the farmer to begin at once
to produce the foods to meet the
requirements at home and abroad.
Delay would not imperil the suc
cess of our army and navy
Therefore, as a loyal citizn, I
agree to serve my country in this
crises by planting the feed and
food crops designated below
