VUILL HEED THE DOCTRINE 1 OF COMMERCIAL
PREPAREDNESS and will begin NOW to advertise his

SANITARY NOTICE
Auout 10 days ago I kin ily ad-
vised the people of Gilmer to cut
the weeds and clean up well their
belongings within the corporate
limits of the town. I also warn-
ed them in regard to keeping
hogs penned in the thickly resi-
dent portion of our town and am
glad to say that a good many re- ■
sponded at once and cut their
weeds, moved hogs that they
had penned up and cleaned up
nicely, but am sorry to say that
a majority heeded not the advice
and the weeds are still growing
ranker every day and hogs in the
pens are becoming more insani-
tary to our town and more offen-
sive every day to near neighbors
and under these sad conditions
typhoid fever is invading our
town and will continue to do so ‘

until the people awakens to a
Knowledge of the fact that a
board of health, the health officer
or the Mayor and City Council
can do very little towards pre- ’
serving the health of the people
without their co-operation. { ,g
Now, in addition to cutting
weeds and cleaning up, we must :
not forget that many of our
KILL not be sentout of the country. It will be spent here for
’ foodstuffs and the thousand and one other supplies that must be
sold to our allies lor the support of their armies and civil population.
The articles smust be raised and made in this country, by our own
people.
