Bar Association Meeting.
A called meeting of the Bar Associa-
tion will be held in the rooms of the1
Tenth District Court on Tuesday the
25th for the purpose of hearing the re-
port of the special committee appointed
to draft suitable resolutions on the
death of the late Marcellus E. Kleberg.
Trapina Habeas Corpus.
This morning Judge Rebert G. Street
of the Fifth-sixth District Court heard
argument in habeas corpus proceedings
of Peter Trapina, charged with the
killing of Oscar W. Carlson on March
7th. The presentation of argument las-
ted two hours at the conclusion of
which time the judge denied the mo-
tion for bail and remanded the prisoner
to the custody of the sheriff.

Knocked Down by Automobile—Taken
to Hospital.
Yesterday afternoon shortly before I
o’clock an automobile whose number
is shown on the blotter at the police
station as 473, struck a negro named
Martin Bryant as he was crossing the
street at the intersection of Fourteenth
and Postoffice streets. The negro was
knocked to the ground and slightly in-
jured. He was conveyed to the John
•Sealy Hospital in the automobile am-
bulance, where his injuries were at-
tended to. j

Announcement is made that the reg-
ular annual meeting of the Union of
Texas Chiefs of Police and City Mar-
shals would be held in Galveston on
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,
June 24, 25 and 26. These dates have
beeit selected upon the recommenda-
tion of Acting Chief of Police Dave
Henry of Galveston and several of the
officers who attended the last annual
meeting of the association.
Acting Chief of Police Henry has
received a communication from Hollis
Barron, chief of police of Waco and
president of the . Texas union, stating
that an executive meeting would be
held at Waco on April 3, at which
time the dates of the convention would
be formally selected, and that he would
place the above mentioned dates be-
fore the committee for adoption.
This is the first convention of the
police chiefs and fire marshals that
Galveston has had, and it is estimated
that it will be the best attended of any
during the past several years.
The executive committee, which will
assemble at Waco on April 3 to for-
mally announce the dates of the meet-
ing and transact any other business,

Will Address Men Tomorrow After-
noon—To Entertain Railroaders.
J. H. Dalyrmple of Fort Snelling,
Mich., who is a secretary of the asso-
ciation conducted among the men in
the army, will speak to the boys to-
morrow afternoon at 3 o’clock in the
Association building.
Acting General Secretary A. K. Jones
of the Galveston Young Men’s Chris-
tian Association has arranged for a
series of talks to the boys of the city,
to be held in the building within the
next few weeks, the first being sched-
uled to take place next Friday night.
The lecture on that-evening will be
given by Dr. J. J. Terrill on the sub-
ject, “What Constitutes a Man?” This
talk will, be to 'the high school boys.
On March 30 Dr. Terrill will address
the boys in the lower grades, or in
the grades below the high school de-
partment.
A reception to the road and yard
men of the railroad train service will
be given by the Young Men’s Christian
Association next Thursday evening at
8 o’clock. The entertainment will be
a novel feature and one that should
draw a large number of railroad men
out. The (Visitors will have the priv-
ilege of using the billiard and pool
tables; and will be entertained by spe-
cial music, bowling matches, inspection
of the building and refreshments.

the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Special to The Tribune.
Texas City, Tex., March 22.—It was
announced today that one member of
. the aviation corps would attempt a
flight to San Antonio tomorrow if con-
ditions are satisfactory. The start for
San Antonio will be made at 10 a. m.
The flights yesterday afternon were
very satisfactory.
Today the Twenty-third and Twen-
ty-seventh infantry, the Sixth cavalry
and Fourth field artillery moved their
camps to the bay shore. There will
be special concerts tomorrow by most
of the infantry bands in camp with
the troops here.
Some of the troops will march to
Houston some time" next week, accord-
ing to the expectation of the command-
ing officers. The march will occupy
five days before the men return from
Houston.
TheAsteamship Antres is taking a
cargo of lumber, cotton and cottonseed
cake. She will sail tomorrow.
Sir. and Mrs. Jackson of Galveston
were here yesterday watching the work
of the army aviators.
Mr. Holmes and family of Houston
toured down from Houston yesterday.
Mr. and Mrs. Kane of Cleburne are
visiting friends here for a few days.
There will be special Easter serv-
ices at the Methodist church tomor-
row, beginning at 11 o’clock. The Sun-
day school will meet at 9:45 a. m. and
the evening services will be held at
7:30 p. m.
Regular services will be held at the
Baptist church tomorrow. Sunday
school at 9:45 a. m. Preaching at 11
a. m. B. Y. P. U. meeting at 3 p. m.
Evening services at 7:30.
Mr. and Mrs. Hanson of Houston
were here yesterday. They spent some
time watching the flights of the army
aviators.
