Practically every one of the 150,000
workmen of East Indian blood in Na-
tal has quit work.
Thus far the strikers have been com-
paratively peaceable, but serious dis-
orders may break out at any moment.

Velazco. There was a most impressive
'Scene when the pope, surrounded by
the Mexican prelates, knelt with the
pilgrims and prayed for the peace of
Mexico.

American citizens from Mexico City
continues. Forty persons, most of them
women and children, arrived here this
morning by train. The fugitives re-
