Sometimes it pays to go to a bank and borrow money. Some-
times borrowing money is the wisest and most profitable thing to
do. But bankers never employed the slogan “It Pays to Borrow."
Perhaps that is one reason that merchants have never understood
the expression “It Pays to Trade at Home.” There are perhaps a
score of business men in Marshall who pleasure themselves by
sending their printing away from Marshall.
Members of the Merchants’ Credit Association and the Mar-
shall Chamber of Commerce have continually brought forth the
slogan of “Trade at Home” and “a Greater Marshall” but con-
tinually send more than $2,000 worth of printing out of Marshall
every month.
Practically every dollar paid members of the Marshall Typo-

Two more cases of alleged bootleg-
ging were tried yesterday in the
criminal district court making the
third in two days to be tried.
Homer Cooper, tried yesterday
morning on a charge of selling whis-
key, was given an acquittal by the
jury.
Dudette Williams, who was tried
yesterday afternoon for manufactur-
ing whiskey, was sentenced to serve
one year in the penitentiary. Defense
attorneys asked that the suspended
sentence be given and the jurors were
sent back to consider giving the de-
fendant the suspended sentence after
they had returned a verdict of guilty

the penitentiary. They returned to
the court room in a few minutes, how-
