Cayla Moo6kvv, Casey Oveiton
Esckasge ows Septembev 13
Cayla Suzanne Hoobler and Casey W es Overton exchanged wedding
vows in a traditional ceremony at 7:00 o'clock in the evening of Septem-
ber 13,1996. The service was held in the First United Methodist Church
of Paducah.
Rev. Neal Casad, pastor, performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hoobler of Iowa Park,
former Paducah resdients. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Overton of Paducah are
parents of the groom. Grandparents are the bride's grandmothers, Mrs.
Flossie Holman of Childress and Mrs. Polly Hoobler of Iowa Park. The
groom's grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. V.V.Overton of Seymour and Cecil
Simson of Tyler.
Candlelighter and flower girl were Paul and Devon Monroe, nephew
and niece of the bride. Ryan Sheffield was ring bearer. The handmade
ring pillow was used in the bride's parents' wedding in 1968, and in her
sister's wedding in 1994.
Matron of honor was her sister, Katherine Monroe, of Hedley. Her dress
was a mauve and multi-floral design, and she carried a long-stemmed
burgandy rose with rosebuds and baby's breath.
Chad Overton of Paducah was his brother's best man. He wore a black
tuxedo jacket with Wranglers, and a burgandy rosebud.
Ushers were Jeremy Beck of Paducah, and Myke Myers of Abilene.
Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore her mother's wed-
ding gown, made by her maternal grandmother . It was also her sister's
wedding dress. Fashioned of candlelight satin, the dress was a semi-
fitted A-line gown, with shaped back hemline and bell-shaped sleeves.
The attached train and the bodice were accented with tiny seed pearls,
and the bride wore a hat detailed with white roses, pearl sprays and net-
ting. She carried a bouquet of wildflowers - teal and ivory magnolias,
dogwood, lilies, berries, and rosebuds. She wore her paternal grandmoth-
er’s pearls, her mother's blue garter, and a penny in her shoe.
The groom wore a long-tailed black tuxedo jacket and W ranglers. His
boutonniere was teal and burgundy rosebuds and baby's breath.
The couple added only the unity candle and the family candles to the
already beautiful Gothic sanctuary.
Lynn Russell, organist, provided prelude music and traditional wed-
ding march.
Edwina Casad, soloist, sang, "The Lord's Prayer" and "W edding Song."
