Feb. 1 was the first day of
the Tarletori Center's new
weekend operation. The Center
was open a total of 5 extra hours
with 32 people using the Center.
Sixteen people used the Center
the first hour. The majority used
the game room for leisure time
with "just a few coming in to
look the place over," said Ed
Knoll, center director.
Feb. 2 the Center was open
on the Main Floor from 10 a.m.
to 2 p.m. with a total of 57
people. The Snack Bar was open
and served 16 people. Each
Saturday the Snack Bar will
feature stew as a' special.
The bottom floor opened at 2
p.m. and closed after the double
feature, with the movies
"Capricorn I" and "Fast Break."
A total of 57 people came in the
Center ori the bottom floor just
to use the game room as leisure
time. The Food Bar opened at
5:15 p.m. and served 75
students before closing at 7:30
p.m. The movies began at 7 p.m.
and when the gate closed a total
of 91 students had been
recorded. The majority which
used the Food Bar were dorm
students, although
approximately 20 off-campus
students came in to patronize
the Food Bar.
Feb. 3, the bottom floor was
open for 5 hours. A total of 30
people used the Center for
leisure time activities, Knoll said.
At present time, pool,
pinball, and ping-pong are the
basic leisure time activities.
Students wanting to see
different types of leisure games,
please submit suggestions to the
Main Floor Office in writing.
The suggestions received will be
discussed during the Tarleton
Center Advisory Board meeting.
Upcoming activities in the
Center during the month of
February include:
Feb. 15, a Valentine Dance
sponsored by the Student Senate
from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Music will be provided by
Saffire.
Collegiate 4-H
organizes tonight
TSU Collegiate 4-H will hold
its organizational meeting
tonight at 6 p.m. in Conference
Room E of the Tarleton Center.
