dealing with any calamity, and
in time of war to supplement
the work of the Red Cross, the
army and navy.”
An effort is being made to
secure in Lufkin this week a
registry of the women who are
ready to volunteer for full time
or part time for patriotic serv-
ice to their country. Registra-
tion blanks were passed to the
women present, and turned
over to six committees for dis-
tribution. There are eleven
different departments under
which women may offer their :
services, and there is a place :
for every patriotic woman.
