Miss Mildred Young, who is
attending the Metropolitan
Now who will be the next to
take out a buiding permit for
a brick business house in Luf-
kin? There are some waiting,
we know that, but who will
be next? That question is al-
ways of interest in Lufkin for
that kind of thing happens
.right along.
I. W. Baker, local contrac-
tor, is seriously ill at his home
on East Shepherd avenue in
Lufkin. Mr. Baker’s condition
was considered most grave
him by good conduct and
more by work. He said letters
written to the warden of the
pen at. McAlester would aid
him and this proposition inter-
ested those in smypathy with
his case. He was convicted of
grand larceny and sentenced
to two years. .
Mrs. Brown, it developes,
formerly lived in Lufkin, being
a daughter of Rev. Coppage,
a Methodist preacher who
served Keltys possibly 14 or
15 years ago. As a young
girl, Mrs. Brown attehded the
Lufkin public schools. She was
known to a few long time resi-
dents though her husband and
his record were unknown.
