We must not permit an Axis victory. Our
way of life must survive.
Whipping Japan and her partners is a job for all
of us. The duty of every American citizen is well de-
fined, clear-cut Our armed forces are fighting with
traditional courage and determination. They are mak-
ing sacrifices to void our enemies’ designs.
We can do without Japan’s silk with no
serious consequences. We can carry on nor-
mally much more easily without Japan’s silk
than Japan can carry on without our market

two weeks visit with friends in Mon-
roe, Oklahoma. Later she will go to
Little Rock, Arkansas, where she will
visit with relatives.

farm machinery and equipment man-
ufactured under its program shall
actually reach the farm, and not be
diverted to industrial or other non-
agricultural use, WPB has issued an
order providing that no one may sell
any farm machinery or equipment
which he knows or has reason to
know will not be used by the ulti-
mate consumer for production or
care of crops or livestock.
