A new County Judge will be elected on November 5, to preside
over Commissioners Court, the Probate Court, and generally lead
our County government. Your vote could be the deciding one!
I believe this election is extremely important. The term of
office is four years and our County will be approaching a popu-
lation of 100 thousand by 1978. The problems and opportunities
created by growth call for the election of qualified public
officials.
I tried, without, success, to get other qualified men in our
county to run for the office of County Judge, but I have committed
myself to improving our county government, and have offered
myself and my qualifications for your consideration. I honestly
and sincerely believe that my legal training, accounting background,
business experience and leadership roles in civic and religious
activities make me the better qualified candidate for County
Judge.
During the past several months, I have attempted to get to know
you and talk about our County Government. Although I have met
hundreds, even thousands of you, the limitations of time have
prevented me from meeting each one of you.
I want to assure you that wherever you live or whatever your
politics, I will serve you fairly and responsibly, devoting
the time and energy necessary to make you the best County Judge
you have ever had.
During this campaign, I have tried to make my past, my qualifi-
cations and my opinions known to you. If you are still undecided
I ask you to call me at my office (424-7541) or my home (424-9927)
for further information.
Yours very truly,
Be Worn Out! It Does Nothing But Get
