Satanistic rituals widespread?
By WENDY BROWN
The little known of the massive
underworld of Satanic worship is
surfacing. The so-called "Fad" is
rapidly growing with many
followers and great power.
Satanic worship has been around
for centuries. It was originated by
agnostics, atheists and b'yChristians
who were unhappy with the Chris-
tian moral values and beliefs.
Satanic cults and churches were
introduced to the United States some
25 years ago. On April 30, 1966,
walpurgis night, The First Church
of Satan was formed in San Fran-
cisco. The self-announced high
priest was former circus star and oc-
cultist Anton Szandor La Vey.
In 1969 La Vey wrote and
published the Satanic Bible. This bi-
ble spelled out the Satanic religion.
A religion of self-interest, self-
sufficiency, and self-indulgence. A
religion driven by power, greed and
lust.
In a matter of a tew years. La Vey
claimed to have more than followers
of this bizarre and backward
religion. One of the followers was
actress Jayne Mansfield.
Founding the first Satanic church
and writing the Satanic Bible, La
Vey gained much publicity. He
soon began to act in underground
movies produced by Kenneth
Anger, a cult member. Later,
Roman Polanski cast him as the
devil in Ira Levin's "Rosemary's
Baby
La Vey is considered one among
a host of Satanic celebrities. Aliester
Crowley, 1875-1947, is known as
one of the greatest occultists of the
century. He founded a cult that was
violently opposed to Christianity.
Crowley also wrote a journal call-
ed "The Equinox" and published
other writings in varios magazines
including "Magic in Theory and
Practice."
Another popular Satanist is
Charles Manson, the dictator of nine
ritualualistie murders including the
murder of actress Sharon Tate. In
a recent interview with Manson, he
said, "Satan, to me, would be
God."
Manson and his cult developed a
Satanic philosophy that has been
adopted by many of today's Satanic
ritual killers. '
Henry Lee Lucas said he
murdered for Satanic cults, Richard
Ramirez was a satanic murderer
Charles Gervais, a satanic
murderer, believes in the "10,000
souls", a belief in which for every
one human ritually killed, one gains
the power of "10,000 souls" from
hell.
Former Satanists say that people
are attracted to Satanism to gain
power and, popularity. Many
possess a mad drive for greed and
lust and begin by experimenting
with rituals.
The worship of Satin begins when
one asks Satan for power before the
alter. This leads to the sacrifice of
animals and eventually of humans.
Sacrifices and other rituals act as
an offering to Satan in return for
power and personal success.
Each church must have a high
priest to gain power from Satan.
This is done by ritual acts including
drinking the blood of the sacrificed
person or animal.
The most powerful blood is that
of a baby. The most recent
knowledge of using babies in
sacrifices comes from former
Satanic Breeders. These are women
impregnated by cult members who
have babies specifically for
sacrificial rituals. , t, ^
Eight human sacrifices must be
held each year. This is the main
reason for Satanic Breeders one
woman a former Breeder said, "I
was taught to believe the highest
honor for a woman is to sacrifice
the first, two born."
Common rituals vary from cutting
the baby's heart out as an offering
to Satan, drinking the baby's fresh
blood to skinning the body.
Other rituals consist of eating
human flesh. La Vey was known for
Cannibalism. On his Friday night
cult seminars, he would feast on''-
human flesh and fried bananas and
yams.
These and other horrifying rituals
are almost unbelieveable.' But too
many stories are too wide spread
and consistant to not take into con-
sideration their credibility
Dr. Michael Aquino, a military
colonel and high priest of The
Church of Set, a Satanic Church,.
refuses the accusations of sacrific-
ing humans. He points out there is
no evidence of ritual killings nor has
it been proven in a court of law.
This is all too true.
Police report that sacrifices are
difficult, to prove. Most people do
not want to believe such things oc-
cur. Too, the operation must remain
undercover. This is dangerous
because the officer must become a
part of the cult and participate. Most
are not willing to subject
themselves.
Former Satanists agree cults keep
their ritualistic practices so secret.
