Funeral services were held
Wednesday for Justice of the
Peace Jack Cope, of McKinney.
Cope, 61, died Monday morning
in a McKinney hospital where he
had been under treatment since
undergoing open-heart surgery in
Dallas in mid-March.
A justice of. the peace for many
years, Cope had only recently
been renominated in the Demo-
cratic primary for another term.
His name was to have appeared
unopposed on the November gen-
eral election ballot.

University where he has been

First United Methodist Church
Day Camp and Vacation Church
School will be Monday, June 5
through Friday June 9.
Children from 3 to 2nd grade will
attend Vacation Church School at
the First United Methodist Edu-
cational Building located at 601 S.
Greenville.
Sessions will be from 9 a.m. to
11:30 a.m.
Those having completed 3rd to
6th grade will attend Day Camp
at a camp site outside of town.
They will be leaving from the
church each morning at 9 a.m.
and returning at 2 p.m.
There will be new experiences,
crafts, and fun for all. The older
children will be spending one nite
at the site on Thursday,” says
