Ward Named
Humble Day
Chairman
Barney Ward was named
general chairman of this year’s
Humble Day at a Humble Club
board of directors meeting last
R. E. NORTON, LEFT, Gauging department, and L. N.
DeMasters, Accounting, are shown figuring up Norton’s income
tax at the Community Building last Wednesday. Plant Photog-
rapher R. B. Jacobs snapped these two pictures which we think
tell the story by themselves. In short, March 15 may not be
so painful for some of us after all!

Physical Ar-
Tons Issued Through
Storehouse in 1953
Last year was another busy
one at the Storehouse where
more than 300,000 items were
issued. Altogether, the issues
weighed more than 30,000 tons
and were worth $14,121,000.
THAT’S the report given
out by J. H. Anderson, general
storekeeper, and E. H. Busby,
assistant general storekeeper,
after they totaled the 1953
traffic through the warehouse.
The $14 million figure in-
cludes materials consumed
either through plant operations
or new construction. It was the
biggest year for the Storehouse
since 1949, and was almost $2
million more than in 1952.
