More than 1,800 plates of barbecue were served to mem-
bers of the Baytown Refinery Club and their familiesaand
guests at their annual barbecue at Camp Reber last -atu
day Serving started at 11 a.m. and continued unti about
, 1:30 p.m. when rain caused the crowd to scatter
j shelter of cars and trees. However, serving continued about
' 30 minutes later and lasted until 6 p.m.
A highlight of the afternoon was the drawing lor a.,
college scholarship. The club made the scholarship available
to any son or daughter of a Refinery Club member who is
. a 1958 high school graduate. Winner in the drawing was
I Clarence Kelly, son of A. O. Kelly of the Refinery Service
Laboratories. ,
Entertainment included a dance from 3 to 6 p.m with the
Pete Mayes Band furnishing the music, and a little league
ball game in the afternoon. (See SPORTS Page.)
