and restful sleep, or do you prefer to drag along until death
relieves you of your miserable condition. Come to me today
—I don’t care how many doctors or patent medieines you
have used—l am going to cure you or not a dollar for my
work. If you live further than 50 miles, I will deduct your
railroad fare from your course of treatment. Remember that
you only pay for medicine until you are sound and well, and
then, and not before, you pay my fee for treating you, which
is alwlays reasonable. ,
Now, my good man and woman, I want these last lines
to be your watchword. Don’t be operated upon until you con-
sult me. Until ytu have tried the latest discoveries in good,
pure, fresh medicine right from the kettle. Life is too precious
to be operated on before you have tried the latest, and surely
God has given us a remedy to cure every disease, tome to see
me and talk to a Doctor who will give you the best examina-
tion you ever had in your life, and tell you the naked truth,
and whether you take treatment, or not, I will guarantee that
you will leave me feeling better than when you came.
Don’t make any difference how many Doctors you have
had or how much medicine you have used—come to me.
Office hours from 9 a. m. to 4 p. m. Sundays, by appoint-
ment. You will always find me in my office. I positively do
not make any calls. You will have to see me at my office.
No cases diagnosed or treated by mail. No cases treated on
Sundays except by appointment.
I repeat that I am here to save you the big expense, time
and trouble of going away to be treated. .Come now and get
the best examination you ever had in your life and talk to a
Doctor who will tell you the plain, unvarnished truth. You
are under no obigations to take treatment, after a thorough
examination; and my experience in some of the best hospitals
and health resorts is absolutely free. I have come here to be
one of your good, law-abiding citizens, and to treat every
man on the square. I am not boasting, but have done many
things that have not been accomplished by others, and that
seemed impossible, so don’t give up, friends, until you have
seen and talked with me. I am just as ethical as any other
Doctor, except that I advertise what I do, and do what I
advertise. I want suffering humanity’ to know what I can
do at the earliest possible moment. Contractors, Ministers,
Bankers, Merchants and every’ other profession advertise,
why should not a Doctor advertise, if he tells the truth and
delivers the goods? Man and woman, it is your health you
want, and not promises. So if your Good Home Doctor’s
service is satisfactory, don't quit him. I am not here to fight
the good, competent home Doctors—a thousand times no—
but am here to treat such cases as have not been benefited
by home treatment and anticipating a trip to some City Spe-
cialist or health resort. Remember, that drugs must be pure
and fresh in order to get good results; that is why I prefer
to order your treatment direct from the kettle to you, with-
out a drop of water or any other adulteration added.
I treat successfully all diseases of the skin and blood,
rheumatism and uric acid poisoning. Don’t take 606 or 914
for your blood: it is Arsenic and dangerous, and often fatal
results, as blindness, paralysis and sometimes death, follows
its use. Don’t take mercury and potash, as it will ruin your
digestive organs, kidneys, etc. Take my purely vegetable
remedy, which never fails to remove every atom of bad blood
from your system, and leaves no bad results. I treat Dropsy,
Gall Stones, Cancers, Winds, Goitre, Asthma, Bronchitis, Ca-
tarrh, Head Noises, Eczema, Ring Worm, Tetter, Salt Rheum,
Urticaria, Epilepsy, St. Vitus Dance, Piles, Blind Bleeding or
Itching, Pruritis, Backache, Stiff and Swollen Joints, Lum-
bargo, Gout, Bladder and Prostatic Diseases, Female Diseases,
Appendicitis, and Cancer without knife or detention from
work, and many other diseases not mentioned here. I want
especially the cases that other Doctors have failed' to cure.
One hundred dollars in gold for any case of Catarrh that
I fail to cure. When you need a Doctor, get one in whom you
have the greatest confidence and one who keeps your secrets
as silent as the grave. If you want to have a good heart-
to-heart talk, come to see me, and whether you take treatment
or not, you will be greatly benefited by your visit and you
will return home feeling better, having had your case cor-
rectly diagnosed, and your doubts as to your condition re-
moved.
Don’t give up, dear friends, and if you have lost all
hope of ever getting well, I ask you to try one more time at
my expense, for my services are free if I fail to cure you.
Remember, that you only pay for medicine used in your case;
I wait until you are well before you pay my fee. If you are
too fat, I will reduce your weight, and if you are thin, I
will increase your weight to the very pound you desire, or
no charge for my services. Are you tired experimenting?
Do you want results? Do you want to feel that you are
a well man or woman again? Come to me today; I will

do something for you that will please you—I will make you
happy.
REMEMBER, FREE EXAMINATION FOR THIRTY DAYS.
Don’t be a Has-Been or a Grunter—be a man for the
future. Health and strength are necessary for success. You
are in the way when you are sick, you are a stumbling
block—begin right now to shake off the handicap of the past.
Recently contracted or old chronic ailments are barriers to
your success. You feel worried. Your sleep does you no
good; you feel as though you are carrying an extra burden
at all times. You awaken after a restless night, tired, loss of
energy and ambition; the joys of the past have turned into
one continual nightmare; you are despondent, you want to be
left alone. See me. I will start you on the road to health,
strength and happiness. I will purify your blood, electrify
your nerves, increase your appetite, restore your vitality,
strengthen your muscles, clear your mind, stop your worry
and despondent condition, and energize your whole system,
if I fail to do all I claim for you, I don’t want a dollar
for my services. I used to be one of the “down and outs,”
but, thank God, I found the way back to health and
strength, and now, at the age of fifty-one years, I feel as
young as I did when I left my father’s farm at age of 21.
A visit to my office will prove to you how I can help you.
Remember, I furnish you with a course of medicine I
get fresh from the factory; you take it, and after you are
WELL, pay me for my services. Keep my doctor bill in your
pocket until you are satisfied that you are permanently cured.
You don’t have to sign any note or obligation—I trust you.
My home has been in San Antonio for years, and I can furnish
you with the best of references as to my reliability.
I am not boasting, but have made a life study of the old,
longstanding hard cases that have puzzled many good Doc-
tors. I want, in particular, cases other Doctors have failed to
cure. I have come to your very door to save you the Big
Expense of going away to be treated. If your case is an
operative case, I will tell you so; but, friends, don’t be operat-
ed upon until you allow me to examine you—thousands of
cases, so-called operative, can be cured without the cruel,
dangerous knife. Remember this: Don’t submit to an opera-
tion until you have tried the latest treatment. The knife is
all right in some cases, but they arc few and far between. I
have cured numbers of cases of appendicitis and piles without
the knife. If I fail to cure you I will pay for your operation
in the best hospital and by the best surgeon in the State of
Texas. Is this d fair proposition?—decide yourself. Make
up your mind today, for a week may be too late. I examine
you, order your treatment, you take it home, or I will send it
to you, visit me as often as you wish free of charge—when
you are well pay me, and not before, for my services.
I remember-in the Springtime we had to take the Sasafras
tea for our body cleansing, but the old methods have passed
into oblivion, and newer and better remedies have been dis-
covered. I have some of the greatest remedies ever known
for General Debility, Nervous Prostration, Paralysis, Vertigo,
Mind Wandering, Inability to Concentrate, Weakness from
Debilitating Conditions, Pain in the Back, Weakness of Limbs,
Jaundice, Liver Splotches, Pimples, Carbuncles, Loss of Ap-
petite, Enueresis, Insomonia, Dyspepsia, Constipation, Bick
and Nervous Headache. Don’t neglect yourself, good man
and woman. See me today or at your earliest convenience.

Gonzales, Texas, Foruary 24, 1916.
In the Spring of 1914 my boy, 5 years old was taken very
sick; in fact, could not walk a step for five meths. I had the
best Doctors I could get waiting on him, ut they never
could tell me what the trouble was or do him Ay good. They
finally said that they would have to operate, all l was afraid
to have this done, so I decided to take him to Lu Antonio; I
carried him up there in my arms and on arrivi there inquir-
ed for a good Speeieint, end wus nevised to go to Dr. Mease,
which I did. The Doctor gave my boy a thoro gh examina-
tion and said to me: “I can cure your boy,” which made me
very happy. The doctor gave me the full courn of medicine
and said: “Go home, give this to your boy acconding to direc-
tions. No use to stay here on expense.” I did as he told me
and in two weeks my bos was walking and in lite weeks was
sound and well and has never been sick a. day knee. I had
given up all hopes of my boy ever getting well I know a
great many people in Gonzales that Dr. Mease hat cured after
they had been given up to die. I cheerfully recommnd the Doc-
