State of Texas and the consultants, the City bearing approximately one-half of
the cost. Actual work on the plan was initiated in November of 1959.
The Comprehensive Plan is being prepared, by the planning consultants, in several
separate phases, each stage of work consisting of a separate submission to the
City Planning and Zoning Commission. The separate reports, in the order of
accomplishment are as follows:
Phase I Basic Studies
Phase II Land Use
Phase III Thoroughfares and Parking
Phase IV Community Facilities
Phase V Capital Improvement Program
Phase VI Planning Controls and Plan Administration
Phase VII Comprehensive Plan Report
The Comprehensive Plan Report submitted as the seventh phase will comprise a
summation of all previous reports and will contain advanced planning projec-
tions and recommendations for the City's guidance in development over a period
of the next twenty-five years.V
