The Senate met at 12 o'clock noon
pursuant to the call of the Governor
and was called to order by Lieutenant
Governor Edgar E. WVitt.
Temporary Officers.

The Chair laid before the Senate
the following proclamation by the
Governor:
Proclamation
by the
Governor of the State of Texas
To All to Whom These Presents Shall
Come:
I, Miriam A. Ferguson, Governor
of the State of Texas, do by virtue
of authority vested in me by the Con-
stitution of this State, hereby call
a Special Session of the Forty-third
Legislature to be convened in the
City of Austin commencing at twelve-
o'clock noon on Monday the twenty-
seventh day of August, A. D., 1934,
for the following purposes:
1. To pass such law or laws as
may be necessary to provide for the
issuance and sale of the remaining
bonds proposed and permitted under
the constitutional amendment sub-
mitted by the Legislature in 1933
and adopted by the voters of Texas at
an election duly held on the 26th
day of August, 1933, for the purpose
of affording relief to the unemployed
and indigent persons of the State.
2. To consider and act on such
other subjects and questions as I,
as Governor, may from time to time
during said Called Session submit by
message or otherwise fo the consid-
eration of the Legislature.
