ministers given by the Woman’s Mis-
sionary Federation at the Baptist
Church Thursday night, the banquet
in honor of the Confederate veterans
at the Rice Hotel Thursday night, and
the Rotary open house at the Masonic
Hall Wednesday night.
Be It said with credit to all con-

ciety melodrama made to order for
the moder nmovie fan. There are big
moments in Kan's great picture.
In the cast are Blanche Sweet, Ben
Lyon, Holbrook Blinn, Dorothy Cum-
mings. George Cooper, Pedro De Cor-
dova. Effie Shannon and many others
Sada Cowan and Howard Higgin
made the screen adaptation of "The
New Commandment" from Colonel
Frederick Palmer’s great novel. "In
visible Wounds" Howard Higgin is
also responsible for the film’s non-
pareil direction.

The annual Now Year’s Eve supper
in honor of the Confederate veterans
will be given this year at the Rice
Hotel, beginning at 7:30. There are
only a few of these dearly loved and
highly honored heroes with us and
especial efforts are being made this
year to make this an unusually happy
event for them. J. C. Carrington is in
charge of the arrangements and an
interesting program is being pre-
pared.
The end of the year open house of
the Rotary Club will be held Wed-
nesday night at the Masonic Hall, be-
ginning at 7:30. This affair is con-
fined to Rotarians and their imme-
diate families. Albert Wadsworth is
chairman of the arrangement commit-
tee. The ladies of the Eastern Star
will furnish the dinner. Mrs. Wads-
worth is arranging the program and
the Rotes are anticipating a great
time.
