One week from tomorrow there will
be one of the greatest elections ever
held in the nation and it will be a
Democratic victory. one that will be
long remembered in the Republican
camps. If the straw ballots are cor-
rect. and they have been uncanny in
their correctness in the past, the
Democrats will go in in a glorious
manner. The Literary Digest now
gives Mr. Roosevelt 41 out of the
48 states. Of course that may be a
slight exaggeration and I guess it is
but just the same if they get enough
to poll those 266 electoral votes many
will be pleased. The people want a
change and they don't care what hap-
pens as long as they get said change.
In the state Mrs. Ferguson will win.
If there are 900,000 votes polled she
will win with a good 200.000 majority.
The greatest poll ever made by a Re-
ublican candidate in the state of
Texas was when the K. K. K. was in
its glory and Butte polled less than
200,000 votes. There are going to be

his tour of Texas. If he isn't getting
some pleasure out of it. he is out of
luck, because he'll get nothing out
of the election except th e most
crushing defeat ever administered to
a gubernatorial candidate in the his-
