Good Job By Blue Santa, Thanks To You
Lavaca County Sheriff Robert Wurm and Deputy Sharon E.
Fuller would like to express their appreciation to everyone who
made Deputy Santa a huge success.
Deputy Santa delivered food and toys to 179 individuals, in-
cluding food for the elderly.
Fuller would like to thank everyone who donated cash or toys
for the program. The list of donations is extremely large and
would be difficult to put all the businesses and individuals in the
paper, but your donation has not gone unnoticed.
Lavaca County Citizens have always shown themselves to be
concerned about their fellow man and it makes us feel proud to
be able to be a part of it.
One elderly individual cried when presented a gift and food
for the holidays. This person really needed and was: appreciative
for what she had received. It really makes you feel good to be
able to do something for someone who so obviously needed it.
This lady now lives alone and hadn't received anything for
Christmas in nearly 30 years!
Incidents like this one is what Christmas is all about.
Again, thank you to everyone who made Deputy Santa a big
success.
"This payment, which is a re-
fund of capital provided to the
Co-Operative by its members,
is a continuation of the capital
rotation program approved by
our board of directors in 1979.
The amount of the check was
based on the revenue from
each customer during the year
which credits were declared,”
President Carlton Pfeifer said.

DOING LESS, HURTING MORE
Overactivity or injury during
exercise may be the reason for
some muscle pain. But the sur-
prise is that inflamed muscles-or
myositis-may be caused by inactiv-
ity, or jobs or habits that require
people to spend long hours in one
position.
How can sitting still hurt?
Because it interferes with the nor-
mal circulation of blood; waste
products accumulate to cause mus-
cle inflammation. Often, sitting at
a desk and dealing with heavy
workloads leads to muscle ten-
sion-and then neck and shoulder
pain.
The chiropractor can offer relief
from pain with specific adjust-
ments; traction may be utilized,
too. The doctor of chiropractic may
also prescribe special exercises and
postural guidelines to speed heel-
ing snd prevent such pain in the
future.
