Gonzales Proceeds With Water Well Lawsuit
GONZALES - The City Council last week voted to withhold
authorization for re-working the Hinton Water Well No. 1 on SH
97 as a lawsuit and countersuit continues between the city and
the company that drilled the well.
The city contends that JB Drilling Co.'s performance failed to
meet specifications, particularly in the use of lead materials, and
that the mechanism's structural integrity was compromised when
workers dropped a 6-inch liner.
The company, in turn, alleged that the city did not adequately
document its complaints. - Gonzales Inquirer
