WELCOME GIFT—A practical, yet luxurious gift are
these beautifully decorated knit gloves with a cuff of
angora above a panel of gilt stitching and beads. They
give a wonderful accent to a winter coat and keep the
fingers warm. Upkeep is the nicest part of the story.
The gloves cling smoothly to the fingers each time they
are worn and they launder like a dream. The cost is
less than $3 a pair. ,

BALTIMORE u— The chances of
Alexandria, Va , getting back the
old fire pumper George Washing-
ton once presented to one of its
fire companies appeared assured
today.
The Baltimore Fire Board
agreed to lend the squatty, 189
year-old engine to Alexandria of-
ficials for as long as they keep it
on display in Friendship Fire-
