A Beautiful Store.
The new drug store being opened
up by E. T. Woodburn and Son in
the Webb building on North Dewy
Avenue recently purchased by them,
is indeed a beantiful store. The
fixtures are all of highly polished
oak every piece made to match and
especially designed for them at the
factory in Louisuill, Kentucky. The
patent medicine cases are fitted with
sliding glass doors and work on ball
bearings. The prescription counter
is a beautiful piece of furniture ex-
tending across the centre of the
building and in the center is a large
plate glass mirror, full length and
on either side is a plate of ground
glass near which is a mall and pessle
made of oak, set off by two plate
glass mirrors. The show cases are
all of the large double-deck style
with plate glass tops. The floor
will be covered with linoleum. A
large beautiful fountain and fixtures
has been ordered.
This is the most complete drug
store in the Panhandle and these en-
terprising people are to be congratu-
lated on fitting up such a creditable
enterprise in our town.
Chas. Woodburn, the junior mem-
ber of the firm, is well known in
Hereford and surrounding country,
having been employed by H. O.
Park as prescription clerk for some
time.
We predict for these people great
success in their new business.

A Proposed New Brick.
J. R. Mosley purchased a lot this
week from T. J. Graves on Dewey
Avenue just across the street from
the Brand office and we are reliably
informed that he will, in conjunction
with Mr. Graves and Mr. Bogard, in
in the near future build four two-
story brick buildings. The first
floors will be used for business
houses and the upper stories prob-
ably be used as an annex to Mr.
Mosley's hotel. These buildings
with the one already in the course of
construction on the adjoining lot will
form a brick row that Hereford
should well be proud of. Our town
j is rapidly spreading out in all direc-
! tions and we are glad to see the
work of building new and substantial
| brick houses progressing.
We now have a complete line of

Mass Meeting at Court House.
The Ladies' Union Aid Society
have called a mass meeting to be
held at the court house Saturday

lic meeting. An interesting program
has been arranged and talks on the
different phases of civic improve-
ment will be given by a number of
the ladies and gentlemen of the town.
Let everybody attend. Remember

Another Apple Orchard.
W F. Stimson has just closed a
contract with J. T. Jowell to set out
for him an apple orchard of from
one hundred to one hundred and
fifty acres on a piece of laed recently
purchased for that purpose about
four miles east of town near the
Santa Fe road. The trees are to be
furnished by one of our local nur-
serymen, S.L. Boone, and will be set
out in the fall. Mr. Jowell has
lived on the plains a number of
years and he realizes the great ad-
vantages to be derived from a large
orchard. We predict that in the
near future this country will be
full of just such orchards and that
the apple business will be one of our
most paying and profitable indus-
