Dear Chanoki:
How nice to hear from you again.
Tim has indeed returned from Liverpool. He married a charming
young Italian girl in Florence in June 1963. They have one son, Timothy,
and another child on the way. They will leave in a day or two to spend the
holidays in Italy with Mrs. Thompson's parents.
Shrub, my elder son, has finished all of his education and army
service and is here working in the office but not particularly with cotton.
Sandy, the younger one, is a freshman in law school at the University
of Texas.
My parents have been 4uite ill but have recovered and are still well
and hardy. They expect to have their usual reception on Christmas day.
We are all looking forward with pleasure to a visit from you and
your family. Keep us posted as to when we may expect it. Of course anything
we can do to make more agreeable your stay in New York or Chicago, we will
gladly do if you will let us know.
All of us envy your living in Kyoto, of which we have most pleasant
memories. We have no immediate plans for a visit to Japan but if we do go, you
can be certain we will come to Kyoto.
Yours sincerely,
