Hendersonites are taking advantage of the double holi-
day this year since Christmas falls on Monday and are visit-
ing friends and relatives from Mississippi to California. Col-
lege students have all closed their books and are enjoying a
round of festivities which will last until the New Year. To-
day and tomorrow will be two days of happiness and celebra-
tion for people everywhere for friends will be reunited, visit-
ing will be done and good cheer will abound around the many

M. Wood, leader for the afternoon,
Introduced the women on program.
Mrs. C. A. Lanier told the story
of “Mary, Mother of Jesus and
Elizabeth of Hebren," basing her
talk on chapters of the Bible.
Mrs. J. D. Myres, had as her
topic, "Mary and Martha, Sisters
of Lazarus” and brought an inter-
esting and Inspirational picture of
these two women, famous in ’Bib-
lical history, Mrs. D. B. Read
talked on the subject, "Mary of
Jerusalem, Mother of Mark,” Mrs.
C.Gellen -nknsgiqed wit-nianq
selections. Christmas carols were
sung in trio by Mrs. J. M. Wood,
Mrs. Clarence Bonds and Mrs.
Frank Soape.
Guests were then invited into
the dining room for tea. The table
was lovely rith a centerpiece of
a miniature white Christmas tree
and white candles in candelabra.
On the buffet was a scene of the
Nativity. Holly corsages were
presented each guest. Mrs. J. P.
McClelland presided at the tea
service.
Refreshments, carrying out the
holiday motif were served to Mrs.
Clarence Bonds, Mrs. W. F. Hub-
bard, Mrs. C. H. Kollman, Mrs. C.
A. Lanier, Mrs. S. D. Logan, Mrs.
Vernon McDavid, Mrs. J. D. Myres,

Mrs. Frank Gray presented chil-
dren in a Chrstmas program for
members of the T.E.L. Sunday
School Class Tuesday night. The
program began with a trio,
"Christmas In the Air” by Ann
Hale, Billy Jo Spiers and Jean
Nance. A Christnias pageant was
presented. The children entered
wearing white robes, each holding
a candle and stood around the

hospitality and Christmas spirit.

series of games and contests were
played in which Mrs. Millard Al-
ien was winner of the match box
race and Mrs. E. . Skinner was
winner of the observation contest.
Mrs. Frank Bolton received the
prize in the book contest and
Mrs. F. P. Cogburn the prize in
the tree contest.
The basket for the Goodfellows
was packed and the guests went
into the dining room where a
lovely Christmas tree was the
center of attraction, A snow
scene with Santa and his reindeer
was arranged on the buffet. The
table had a modern arrangement
of silver and red balls with poin-

read "A Tale Of Christmas Eve
As Told by the Christmas Stock-
ing." The reading of the Beati-
tudes completed the program.
Gifts were exchanged by the mem-
bers.
The dining room table was love-
ly with a lace cloth and red cand-
les. It was centered with a bowl
filled with holly and Christmas
balls with a light inside the bowl.
A Dessert course was served

Tittle of Fort Worth, were mar-
ried at 7:45 a.m. this morning
at the home of the bride’s mother
on North High.
The Rev. Curtis Porter, pastor
of the Church of Christ, read the
impressive ceremony in the pres-
ence of the family and a few
close friends. The bride was at-
tractive in a navy wool crepe suit
with red accents and accessories
of navy blue. Her corsage was
1li€s of the valley. The house was
beautiful with decorations in
Keeping with the holiday season.
Immediately after the ceremony
Mr. and Mrs. Tittle left for a
wedding trip t0 San Antonfo and
Fort Worth. Mrs. Tittle attended
Baylor University and Stephen
Austin College in Nacogdoches.
Air. Tittle received his degree

in J ort Worth. Both are teachers
in .the Gaston school. The couple
