H.A. and Colley Jean (Nance) Hanks of Andrews are pleased to
announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter,
Nancy Hanks, to Reich Chandler. son of George and Martha Chandler of
Lufkin.
The bride-elect graduated from Andrews High School in 1990. She
graduated from Texas Tech University in 1994 with a B.A. in marketing.
She is employed as the marketing and public relations manager for
Staubach Retail Services in Dallas She is the granddaughter of Mr and
Mrs. W A. Nance of Levelland.
The future groom graduated from Baylor University in 1989. He
graduated from Baylor University School of Law in 1992. He is employed
by Chandler Law Offices in Lufkin.
The couple will exchange wedding vows on Friday, November 3, 2000
at 7:30 p.m. in Highland Park Methodist Church, Dallas.

RETIRING BANK EMPLOYEE -- Barbara Shobert, center, was feted
with a retirement reception July 7 at Citizens Bank With her were fellow
employees Judy Rountree and Mike Wilks Mrs. Shobert, who retired as
head teller, first went to work for the bank in 1982, when it was First
National She plans to spend more tune with her eight grandchildren and her
husband, Don Shobert, who owns Lone Star Beef Jerky in Lubbock. She
also expects to spend some time seeing the country on a big touring
motorcy cle that her husband owns. Mrs Shobert enjoys sewing and working
, in her flower garden The retiree says she has enjoyed working with her
customers over the years. Her co-workers have been a "very caring” group

She died at 12:36 p.m., July 11,
2000 at West Houston Medical
Center
She was bom on March 24
1923 in Tyler.
She moved to Houston in 1999
from Waynoka, OK. She was a
retired bookkeeper.
She is survived by a son, Earl E.

daughters: Freda Fitzhenry of

Citizens is seeking retirees who are
bored, tired of being at home, and
have all the honey-do’s done to

We would like to invite seniors
who would like to give their time
and talents to the elderly. disabled,

visitation, home visitation. America

senior center in the morning or
afternoon, helping to deliver meals,
be a runner for one of the volunteer
drivers, Faith-In-Action, and many
more Hickory House could use a
person to answer the phone.
