was a member of the 1949 grad-
uating class. She is now Mrs.
James Payne Jr. of Hemphill.
Her husband is a Ford dealer.
THE TROTTER DOCTORS
Bob Trotter is now a patholo-
gist at Hendrix Hospital in Abi-
lene. He makes other hospitals
in his private plane covering a
wide area.
Bob’s older brother, Dr. Pat
Trotter, does the same kind of
practice and is based at the
Shannon Hospital in San' Angelo.
They are sons of Mr. and Mrs.
R. B. Trotter, 614 Parkway.

Mrs. Una Mae Ramsey Col-
well, daughter of the late Mrs.
Ida Ramsey, was a 1927 grad-
uate. Her brother, U. J. Ramsey,
says she is living in1 Denton but
teaches in Lewisville.
Miss Carolyn Dobbins a 1931
graduate, is the accountant in
Crillon Payne’s business office at
Denton High School. Her sister,
Miss Mildred, is a teacher in the
school system. Mrs. Fred Mc-
Bee, a graduate of 1934, is the
former Margaret Woodson. She
teaches in Farmers Branch. The
McBees live in Denton.
Dorris Harrison, a graduate of
1939, is a brother of Hooper and
Marvin Harrison. Dorris teaches
in a Fort Worth junior high
school.
THE DOINGS
Mrs. Trotter reads her copy
of The Doings each month and
sends it on to Dr. Pat, who then
mails it on to Dr. Bob. Many
copies are mailed and remailed
in this way.
BILL TURNER
Bill Turner is with Waggoner
Industries in Grand Prairie and
Floyd Farrington is with the
Humble Oil Co. in the marketing
division at Arlington. His dad is
with the NTSU placement bu-
reau.
Ben Boyd, Barbara Wadley, a
TWU girl from Houston. Father
is Mack Gay, owner of Gay Roof-
ing Co.
“Gay’s group presented a va-
riety show including jokes and
songs by Jane Piott and Verda
Mae Clark, Billy (Bunky) Mil-
ler and L. A. Speer.
“Jane Piott Storrie works at
Neiman Marcus in Dallas and
lives in Denton. Verda Mae Clark
is now Mrs. George Piott. Bunky
Miller is with the Denton Missile
Base National Guard Unit.”
LON A. SPEER III
Lon A. Speer III is a Methodist
minister and is pastor of First
Methodist Church at Ingleside,
Texas.
He met his wife while studying
theology in Chicago. They now
have two children. L. A. was one
of the top four students of his
NTSU graduating class. He re-
ceived his master’s degree from
the University of Chicago.
His grandmother, Mrs. Pearla
Speer, lives at 933 N. Locust St.,
their old home place built by
Lon A. Speer, Sr., Lon’s grand-
father
MARTHA LEN NELSON
The class of 1946 was repre-
sented by Sue Perryman and
Martha Len Henderson. Martha
Len is now the wife of Denton
attorney L. A. Nelson.
Mistress of ceremonies for the
class of 1945 was Miss Jean1 Har-
ris, daughter of Mrs. Helen Har-
ris.
Jean Harris is now Mrs. W.
Dyer Moore. She married an at-
torney and they are living in
El Paso.
DICK HARRIS
Her mother is a graduate of
Denton High’s 1919 class. Her
brother, Dickie Harris, was a
student at the University of Tex-
as. He’s a geologist in Houston.
MRS. TOMMY ANDERSON
June Gammon is the only
daughter of Ray and Peri Gam-
mon. June married Tommy An-
derson and they have a son,
Stanley, 11. Her husband has just
been promoted to superintendent
of the T.P.&L. Co. in Sherman.
June is still singing, is active in
the Music Club and Little Theat-
er in Sherman and sings in the
choir of the First Methodist
Church.
Mrs. W. E. Smoot, who still
teaches on a substitute basis,
registered the returning students.
WHERE THEY ARE NOW
Our friend Ethel Woodby wrote
an article about the 1945 through
1848 graduates of Denton High
School in the Record-Chronicle.
It is the kind of thing most of
our readers like and we here are
giving our version of it with some
corrections and additions of our
own, and several pictures. Our
sincere thanks to Ethel.
Miss Cara Boswell, Mrs. Helen
Harris and Pat Roberts filled in
amon what almost every person
tenentioned in the story is doing
“now. Mrs. L. H. Edwards also
helped. She is a graduate of 1907,
mother of five sons and four
daughters, all graduates from the
school. The youngest, Joan, is
now Mrs. Bob Schmitz. Her hus-
band is in the mortuary busi-
ness, Jack Schmitz Funeral
Home.
BLUE-EYES CLEMENTS
“Oh, I wonder what blue-eyes
is doing now,” pondered Mrs.
Harris, referring to Thelma
Clements, a graduate of 1926.
She married Curtis Gross, now
deceased. Thelma taught art at
NTSU. Curtis’ brother, O s c e
Gross, is now in the general in-
surance business in Vista, Cali-
fornia.
Mrs. Fred Freeman says that
Thelma is living in Houston to be
near her daughter, Beverly, who
is now Mrs. Jim Graham. Thel-
Ema’s other daughter, Sandra, is
Gy-n NTSU graduate this summer.
5 ' Mrs. Freeman said Thelma is
ill in a Houston hospital.
Mary D. Balthrop, now teach-
ing in Dallas, was president of
the 1949 graduating class.

McDonald Gay was master of
GJceremonies for his 1948 class. He
is now a captain in the armed
forces in Munich, Germany, and
is married to a niece of Mrs.
Prof. A. O. Calhoun is still an
active Bronco supporter.
VALERA BARNES CLARK
Among the graduates registered
from the years of 1925 to 1939
were:
Mrs. John Clark, the former
Valera Barnes, was of the 1925
class. She is the sister of Sheriff
Wiley Barnes, she works in the
Denton County Courthouse and
has two daughters who were
graduated from Denton High.
CATHERINE MARTIN
BALDRIDGE
Mrs. Catherine Baldridge, a
graduate of 1927, is the wife of
County Judge W. K. Baldridge.
Their daughter, Betty, was a
student at the school in' 1949.
Betty, now Mrs. Clyde Hesse,
was in Denton looking over her
old high school memory books.
Her parents are moving to a new
home so she was asked to decide
which items she wanted to keep.
She’s married to a Houston
physician and has three sons.
