To The Voters Of Orange County:
■ ■ %
In tiie closing hours of my corápaign for State Repre-
sentative District 15 there is being circulated over Or-
ange and Jefferson Counties an unsigned circular which
reader . '' 1 .
' ■ - • • : . « V r '. . .; ' . ■ 11
"It will pay the Voters of Orange and Jefferson Coun-
ties io investigate the record of Mr. McDoúgald in the
39th Legislature before Selecting him as their represen-
tative. INVB3TIÓATE McDOUOALD S RECORD IN
HARDIN AND LIBERTY COUNTIES.
This circular put out Without the knowledge, conni-
vance or consent of Mr. McDougald's opponent, Mr.
Knop, but is printed and distributed by Hardin and Lib-
erty County citizens in the interest of good govern-
ment." " ' ." _ • . . I .' . ( .
A thorough investigation proved this circular was
«printed in Beaumont upon the order of C. E. McOlaun
a chiropractor of Beaumont, Texas, was paid for and cir-
culated by him and the citizens of Hardin and Liberty'
counties ihad nothing to do with it. The same Mr. C. E.
McOlaun has carried on a very active campaign in be-
half of my opponent, has represented him as an agent
before the County Democratic Chairman, has canvassed
both Orange and Jefferson Counties with my opponent,
and personally worked at the polls in my opponents be-
half in the first primary election.
'*' . ' .-.y ■ • . '• v .
.This circular is a cowardly misrepresentation and is
not based upon truth or facts, and I call upon my oppon-
ent to denounce^ this unfair and dishonest effort to re-
flect discredit upon me and the citizens of Hardin and
Liberty Counties. I call upon my friends and supporters
to denounoe such tactics and urge thfcm to go to the polls
Saturday and register their disapproval
