King Tut tells his story to students
Harts Bluff seventh grader Zack Wallace in his role as King Tut explains
his character to classmates Friday morning during the “wax museum” of
historical characters at Harts Bluff school. Muhammed Ali, Marilyn Monroe,
Roy Rogers, Genghis Khan, Jackie Kennedy, Walt Disney, Harriet Tubman,
Coco Channel and Lucille Ball were among the characters portrayed by
the students. During the three-week character study by the seventh-
grade language arts and social studies classes, students decided on their
characters, used iPads to research them, created a story board on the
characters, and on Friday portrayed the characters in costume, English
teacher Pam Weidman said. “They learn so much more by ‘becoming’ that
person. It deepens the learning.”
