home open to any friend that wanted to come.
While Gloria’s kids were young, her home was al-
ways full of fellowship and activity, hosting meals
and sleepovers almost every weekend. She loved
being the center of her kids’ lives. After her chil-
dren became adults with families of their own,
Gloria, or better known as “Barna” to the grand-
children, attended most every grandchild’s soccer
game, play, or recital she could. If there was a
model for how much love a mother can give her
sons, she was it. Her love of Jesus and others,
sacrifices for her family, as well as her generosity,
are characteristics that are instilled in her sons
and their families.
Survivors include her sons, Matt McNeme and
wife, Stephanie; Brett McNeme and wife, Chan-
da; Brent McNeme and wife, Christine; and Trent
McNeme and wife, Kristin; nine grandchildren,
Avery, Adison, Kamryn, Keely, Ainsley, Claire,
Gage, Dawson, and Harley McNeme; brother,
Carol Wilson, and wife, Diane; and brother-in-
law, Bob Howell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eu-
gene and Nell Wilson; siblings, Jeanette Howell,
and
Gayion Wilson.
The family of Gloria McNeme has designated
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stju-
de.org for memorial contributions donated in her
memory.

to Lubbock to be near her sister and opened a gift
shop together, which was called “Nana’s House”.
After several years, the sisters decided to close
the shop, and Gloria began working at Texas Tech
University in the Graduate School. She retired af-
ter more than 21 years of taking such joy in help-
ing students achieve their academic goals.
Gloria’s passion was her four boys and nine
grandchildren. Her devotion to raising her boys
in a loving, Christian home was unwavering as
she energetically ensured they had everything
they needed and often sacrificed for them. There
are countless memories and stories of her daily
sacrifice for her kids.
