RUSH JOB
Heber, Utah. (AP) — I, S Rich,

here, and added:
"I did not stop to find the

Only the good old Americati spirit of fair play
, wiil make it woric.
f.••v -. /-j ' 'v .
There never was a law written or a regulation
passed that some unscrapulous persod didn't find
•- • „
a way to get around. Take gasoline rationing, for
example.
. V, ■ ■ .V "" •
Thefts and counterfeiting of coupons ana
^irregularities of other kinds have created a seri-
TV Vr ■ , it. ;
ous situation—one which threatens to impede the
war effort. These abuses have increased to the
point where as much as 2,500,000 gallons of gaso-
line a day are being siphoned off through illegal
methods.
After military needs are met, there simply isn't
enough left to keep civilian cars running "as
usual" But there is enough for our basic tssetuúd
needs if we stick with the rationing plan which is
designed to give every class of consunto his share
of the available supply.
✓/'V'
:l,¡ if. j\N
ff you use more gasoline or more coupons than
your rationing board has allowed you, you are
contributing, perhaps unwittingly, to this un-
American activity, which is causing wch t tre-
mendous daily drain on our limited supply of
civilian gasoline. / ^, 7 /
What are yóu going to Ao about it?
/ V What' you tío about it is entirely up'tc
a patriotic American citizen. The fate of the gaso-
Uné rarioning program is iñ your hands, Mr.
lerican Motorist. You can shorten the war by
complying with it or you can delay victory by
gating ssou^d it.
• J ' r
Here's what you can do: Don't apply for more
gas than you actually need....Get into a ride-
sharing club and stick to it.... Endorse all your
¡J gas coupes now. . . /Don't take extra coupons or
offer them to anyone.
