Lisa Redmon and Bernice Thomas took home individual
honors last weekend, while Hereford's girls and boys
finished sixth and eighth, respectively, in high school
track meets
Miss Redmon was a double winner, in the 100 and 200
meter dashes in the Lubbock Girls' Invitational, where
the Herd gals scored 42 points Estacado won the meet
with 131 points, while Dunbar was runner-up with 65.
While Mlns Redmon took first in the 100 • with a time of
12.5» and the 200 < in a time of 25.8), Miss Thomas tossed
the discus 108-2 to win her speciality
Hereford's other points came from a fifth-place effort
by Maria Valdez in the 1600 meters (6:09.8); a sixth-place
finish by Debbie Dobbins (13.6) in the 100 and a fourth-
place showing by the 1600 meter relay team <4.22.8)
Hereford’s boys, meanwhile, traveled to San Angelo
They scored 191« points to tie Abilene Cooper for eighth
place Midland Lee won the meet with 142 points, while
Killeen was next with 1063s.
Hereford points came from the following:
Erasmo Gonzalez • 6th in the shot with a toss of 50-feet i;
Craig Jones < tied for 6th in the pol vault with a 12-0
effort i; Fernando Carrasc o (3rd in the 1600 with a lime of
4:48.25 and 5th in the 800 with a time of 2:04.2); Ronmee
rer rj 4th in the 300 1H at 40.341: Alfred Ball (5th in the
300 IH with a time of 4:49.41.
Both teams again will hit the road this weekend The
girls travel to San Angelo, while the boys head North to
Dumas for the North Plains Relays. Both are scheduled

lead and finally broke away
eluding six personal fouls and
an unsportsmanlike conduct
infraction.
