DEAR AUSTIN: I would advise
that mother to hang on to everything-
-including the gold in her teeth. It's
true, "You can’t take it with you,"
but it’s nice to have it while you are
still here. Those children sound too
eager to suit me.
DEAR ANN: I just finished
reading the letters from the universi-
ty professors’ wives. They were com-
plaining about sexy students who
make passes at their husbands. They
call those students "lollipops.”
Believe me, there are lollipops in
every profession. I am a minister’s
wife and I have seen them hanging
around for years.
My husband and I have pastored
four churches in as many states. The
lollipops I’ve had to put up with are
women (always married) who pre-
tend to be seeking advice about their
spiritual lives but are really hoping
to have an affair with my husband.
I read an article recently about
ministers who leave their pulpits and
families. Ninety percent of the men
who were included in the study left
because they got mixed up with a
lollipop.
My husband is unusually attrac-
tive, and while I don’t feel threaten-
ed, I am aware of the pressures on
this man to stray. Any suggestions?-
