With the opening of the persim-
mon season in the North Texas
area, Denton county women begin
one of the easiest methods of utiliz-
ing fruits without using sugar. Miss
Nena Roberson, county home dem-
onstration agent, said today.
Persimmons are nearly one third
sugar, she pointed out, and may be
either canned or frozen with little
or no additional sugar
Since birds often spoil the ripe
fruit, she added, it is wise to gath-
er the persimmons when they are
firm and just before they are ripe
enough for eating
The fruit should be wrapped in

Samuel J Woodward had three
horses badly injured on a wire
fence Thursday night. Two of the
horses were valued at about $400
and one of them was cut in the
breast and the other had its right
foot nearly cut off
present week, reflecting in a brand
new fall suit of clothes that pros-
perity which ever attends Pilot
Point's peerless newspaper. He fa-
yors filling up that short space be-
tween Denton and Pilot Point with
streets and additional houses and
flee space took a new turn Tues-
day.
Before the attorney general for
legal determination was the ques-
tion whether the state can sell the
Tribune Tower in Austin which it
has just purchased for $735,942
from the J M West estate and
eirs.
The board of control said it had
unofficial offers of $800,000 and
$850,000 for the Tribune building
and might receive even a larger
offer if bids Were asked. It's pur-
chase was authorized by the legisla-
ture. The legislature said nothing
about sale.
It proposed that the state sell the
building and use the profit to help
finance the construction of a new
office building and a new courts
building The problem was referred
to the attorney general by a legi-
slative business council which acts
as an advisor to the board of con-
trol in the building program
