week that James Newcomb and
his friend, Mr. Cook, of Argenta,
Ark., had been visiting relatives
and friends here.
Dr. R. P. Boren Dead.
Last Saturday morning short-
ly before noon Dr. R. P. Boren
died at his home in Pittsburg.
The remains were interred there
Sunday afternoon.
Hon. J. R. Warren and little
son, Truman, and Mrs. 8. E.
Boren of Gilmer attended the
funeral.
Dr. Boren was formerly a citi-
zen of Upshur county and was
well known to most of the older
citizens. He was a brother of
A. B. Boren, deceased, who was
once Judge of this county and
was prominent as a citizen of
