Be it ordained by the City Coun-
cil of the City of Gilmer at a regu-
lar session September 5, 1946, that
an occupation tax be placed on all
dray wagons, which are being op
erated in the City limits for hire
and being used for the purpose of
transfering goods and freight and
each wagon and team so operated in
the city for hire as a dray wagon be
taxed the sum of 12 50 per annum
That alter the publication of this
ordinance for ten days all persons
owning or operating a dray for hire

ing a dray wagon, who shall fail or
refuse, aftr the publication of this
ordinance for ten days, to obtain a
license from the city for the privi-
lege of operating said dray and who
shall operate said dray for hire
without said license shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction stall be fined in any sum
not less than $5.00 nor more than

Be it ordained by the City Coun-
cil of the City of Gilmer in regular
session September 5, 1916, that an
annual tax of $10.00 be placed on
all fruit peddlers vending fruit in
the city limits and all peddlers of
meat in the city limits. That af-
ter the publication of this ordinance
for ten days all persons peddling
fruit or selling fruit from wagons,
boxes or other places save and ex-
cept the regular merchants of the
town shall pay an annual tax of $ 10,
00 per year and all persons selling
meat such as beef, pork, sheep,
etc., from wagons and hacks other
than regular markets shall pay an
annual tax of $10.00 per year.
Same to be known as an occupa-
tion tax.
Any person, who shall engage or
be „fouud upon the streets selling
meat or fruit, without first obtain-
ing and occupation license shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction shall be fined
in-any sum not less than $1.00 nor
more than $25.00.
Brovided, however, that this or-
dinance does not apply to any per
son who raises fruit upon his farm
and brings to town for market.
