KERRVILLE, May 31.—Graduat-
ing classes of ten college students
and 39 high school students were
presented at Schriener Institute's
commencement exercises Tuesdsy
held in conjunction with a memorial
service dedicated to 87 former
Schriener students who gave their
lives for their country in World
War II.
Principle speakers on the program
were Gov. Coke R. Stevenson, who
delivered the memorial address; Rear
Admiral J. J. Clark, U. S. Navy,
Chief of Naval Air Basic Training-
Command. Corpus Christi, Texas;
Arrangements of daisies and gardenias were used to accent the open
rooms, and the guests were greeted .as they arrived byMrs. Swift The
receiving line was composed of Mrs.*
Black, Miss Ebner, the honoree; Mrs. Mrs H N Calhoun.

guests to the gift room, where Mrs.
Troy Epperson and Mrs. Maud Lee
displayed the gifts. The registry
was presided over by Mrs. Bill Put-
nam, and Mrs. John Wylie and Mrs.
Finis Epperson told the guests good-
bye.
No invitations are being issued to
the wedding, and friends of the
couple arc invited to attend. The
ceremony will take place at 8 o’clock
in the evening, June 11, at the Ang-
lin Street Presbyterian Church.

Given This Week for
Mr. and Mrs. George
Mr and Mrs. Jeffie Scott Wofford
were hosts on Tuesday evening at
'their home on Scurlock avenue,
when they entertained in honor of
Mr. and Mrs. W. E. George, who are
leaving Cleburne soon to make their
home in Topeka, Kans.
Mrs. George has been an officer
in the O. E. S. this year, and the
guest list included the regular offi-
cers and pro terns of Ruth Chapter,
No. 20.
The open rooms of the Wofford
home were decorated with bouquets
of gladioli, Shasta daisies and other
spring flowers. A short program
was given. It included a musical
reading. “That Old Sweetheart of
Mine,” by Mrs. Charles Dilleshaw,
accompanied by Mrs. W F. Brad-
ley Mrs. Bradley also, played sev-
eral piano numbers. A
The honoree, Mrs. George, was
presented with a dozen Madiera nap-
kins as a farewell gift from the of-
ficers and members of Ruth Chap-
ter The presentation was made
by Mrs. Roberta Fowler, worthy
matron. Games of forty-two were
played during the remainder of the
I evening.
