the divisional standings at the
end of the regular season.

Winning the tournament
came as a satisfying reward to
C.R. Eastate after losing the
regualr season divisional race to
Eagles Sports Center in a tie-
breaker playoff.
C.R. Estate received a bye in
the first round of the tourna-
ment. Eagles Sports Center
emerged from the first round a
33-13 winner over Roger’s Hair-
cut Center, and Farmers In-
surance survived its opening
game with a 29-11 defeat of
Chumbley Realtors.

Allen Shell 19
The Explosion hopped on an
8-2 lead in the first quarter but
watched Shell regroup in the se-
cond quarter to close the half
trailing 14-10.
Then in the third quarter,
Shell gave spectators reason to
believe an upset of the divi-
sional champion might be in the
making.
The Allen Sports Association
officially closed the 1984 season
Saturday with a post-season
tournament that resulted in the
Mustang Explosion, Safeco
Land Title and C.R. Estate
coming away the winners in
their respective age divisions.
Results of the tourney follow.

Tourney Recap
In the first round, Country
Place Garden Center defeated
Allen Mobil, 30-13; Allen Shell
downed Realty World Allen,
34-21; and SMU’s Mustang Ex-
plosion whipped Pizza Shack,
32-10. Goodman Homes receiv-
ed a bye in round one.
In round two, Allen Shell
blasted Allen Mobil, 31-24, and
SMU emerged a 28-11 winner
over Goodman Homes. That
left Shell and SMU all alone at
the top. SMU won that clash,
30-19.

following a season of learning
during the fall, they did.

outings, scoring 10 points to
pace the Explosion past Pizza
Shack in round one.
For the game, Crowder hit 70
percent from the field.
Lance Bridges, who scored
eight points for the Explosion,
led the defense with seven
steals despite playing on a bad-
ly cut foot.

Warriors 0
Early in the second half An-
drew Green punched it in from
about 15 yards out to give the
Bandits the edge in one of
ASA’s key opening day con-
tests.
It was a defensive struggle
providing all that was expected
as Matt Kirk and Chuck
Wellenberger turned back
Modern Day Warrior threats
Joseph Moreno, Jason King
and Mike Staton to chalk the
win.
Kevin Nickel, Greg Good,

Hunter helped torch the
Dynamites offense; and Lisa

to be the Eagles’ forte in a dual
tennis match Tuesday at
Williams High School of Plano.
Although winning just one
pro set in singles competition,
the Eagles captured victories in
both, boys and girls A doubles.
Mary Ellis and Cory Hillary
teamed for the girls to knock off
Michelle Printer and Christy
Dickinson, 8-2, and Greg Proc-
tor and Robbie Celedonia
outlasted John Seilleux and
Robert Easely, 8-6, in boys
doubles play.
John Morris and Jeff
Devasher are to be credited for
keeping the offense moving
with no-hesitation passing, and
Stacy Carpenter and Thomas
Birdwell shut Mobil down
around the key.

N’ Figures defense, but Safeco

the game came in the first half,
which ended with Safeco
leading 10-3.
Safeco’s points were recorded
by Sara Jane Whitten and Mol-
ly Hoezel with six apiece and
Amy Barnes with four.
